Goldsea CEO moderates Xinde London Panel 3
J.J. Wang, CEO of Goldsea International, initiated the discussion. New technology has been developed rapidly in recent years to reduce carbon emissions and improve fuel efficiency. From fuel itself, we have dual-fuel options like LNG, Methanol, and Ammonia, which can help reduce carbon consumption and emissions; meanwhile, other methods are also being adopted, such as sailing and air lubrication. It presents management with a new challenge in managing these ships, as well as determining which fuel or system will be the better choice.
Clare, the CEO of Anemoi, explained the benefit of using rotor sails. Following Allan, the Chairman of Accelleran, he advised implementing an advanced fuel injection system to improve the engine’s performance. Noah, CEO & Founder of Silverstream, emphasized the use of air lubricant to reduce friction between the hull and water. Captain Sanjay, Director of Primeco, helped better understand the importance of crew on digitalized shipping. And Jon, Head of Sustainable Shipright, explained how their rating system helped owners’ efforts in new technology being reflected.
This session focuses on the practical application of new technologies on ships, such as energy-saving and carbon-reducing innovations, discusses the implementation barriers, and explores the collaboration needed to accelerate adoption.
