Goldsea London Marine Seminar Successfully held

The Goldsea International 2026 London Marine Seminar was successfully held at The Tower Hotel on March 10, 2026. This event marked the fifth one in Goldsea International’s Maritime Seminar Series, attracting distinguished guests from the shipping industry. Experts from Hill Dickinson LLP, Bureau Veritas, Bohwa Group, International Registry Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “IRI”), and Jimei University delivered insightful presentations.

The seminar was hosted by Goldsea International Co., Ltd. Mr. Wang Jianjun, Founder of Goldsea International, shared insights on the development trends of the newbuilding market within the current political and economic landscape. His presentation covered the supply and demand dynamics and price trends for various vessel types and shipyard overview, with a particular focus on promoting Chinese shipyards.

Mrs. Rajveer Sehmi, Partner at Hill Dickinson LLP, delivered a presentation titled “International Trade: Legal and Commercial Challenges in the Maritime Sector.” She analyzed the geopolitical, sanctions, and security challenges, legal and compliance pressures, as well as commercial and operational challenges facing the shipping industry. She concluded that the future is fraught with uncertainty and unpredictability, requiring particular attention to geopolitical fluctuations, tariff policy evolution, intra-Asian trade development, and the containment of shadow fleets.

Mr. Nick Daniels from Bureau Veritas presented design features of general cargo ships from a class perspective. He shared the impact of decarbonization requirements on general cargo ship design in terms of energy efficiency, wind assistance, e propulsion and green energy, and asserted that digitalization will drive breakthroughs in cyber secure system performance.

Mr. Charles Zhang, Chairman and CEO of Bohwa Group, delivered a presentation titled “China’s Structural Role in Multi-Purpose Vessels Market.” Using detailed data, he analyzed China’s five core roles in the global multipurpose vessel sector—builder, financier, operator, contractor, and cargo provider—and how China has become the most critical structural driver propelling the global multipurpose vessel market.

Mr. Mohammad Sabir from IRI introduced the development of the Republic of the Marshall Islands’ ship registration services, the services provided, and its role in international affairs. He highlighted several initiatives and action plans by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in environmental protection and climate change response.

Professor Zhang Pengfei from Jimei University delivered a presentation titled “Ship Management in the New Era from a Chinese Perspective.” Drawing on extensive examples, he reviewed the development process and characteristics of China’s ship management industry. He asserted that China’s ship management sector now stands at the forefront of global maritime innovation, integrating cutting-edge technology, enduring cultural wisdom, world-class talent cultivation, and forward-looking strategies. This unique fusion creates competitive advantages that benefit the entire international shipping community.
